Hi everyone I do a ton of contemporary sacred composing/arranging, and Im wondering if anyone has a solution for the following issue. As such, I just use a basic arsenal of chords if I don't know the melody. Also, the person choosing the song usually gets to pick the key they're used to playing or singing in, so the rest of us are scrambling to transpose in our heads as we play, which is tricky for me, as a fiddle player, because I have to overcome muscle memory from years of playing one pattern, to adjust to a new pattern.Īny feedback is appreciated. A capo, or capo tasto in full length, is a device used for change the key without changing the tuning. I'm primarily a fiddle player, but at jams I often play mandolin, octave mando and Irish tenor banjo (all GDAE). I've looked all over the web for a capo transposition chart for mandolin (and GDAE tuned instruments) but can't find anything. Chart with guitar chords with capo positions.
